When is the last time you ate a meal
without doing anything else at the same time?
No cell phone in your hands, no book, no TV, no computer, no music, no talking… A meal simply to appreciate what is here in your plate, taking the time to enjoy the taste of the food, being conscious of each gentle mouthful, being thankful for the food nourishing you or to the animals who gave their life so that you can get energy to live, to simply be present to what you are doing: EATING.
If the answer is that you don’t remember or you don’t even know if you did that once in your life, I think you might have never ‘eaten with awareness’ in your life or that you don’t take the time to appreciate simple things in life.
Many surveys show that it is not only pleasurable but very healthy so why deprive yourself of it?
